Hi! I’m Lindsay, the founder of Lindsay Slocum Design. I’ve always had a passion for creating spaces that feel welcoming and foster connection. I draw inspiration from the beauty that God created all around us. My goal is to help homeowners create a space that beautifully enhances the character and soul of their home. I guess you could say that I like to bring a little of Heaven to Earth.

I am happy to help with any space you can dream up, but specialize in residential interiors. I love layering in textures and elements that show your unique personality. My aim is to marry functional spaces with luxury design, adding value to your lifestyle and home. I want to hear about your design ideas and help you to make it happen! I work with renovating current spaces, design consultation on new builds and restoring character in older homes.

I work from my historic home in Edwardsburg, Michigan with my husband, Jonathan, three college kids and a very spoiled goldendoodle. I love our community and am a small town girl at heart. I am a cancer survivor and a homebody who loves to help others…all of which encouraged me to pursue my dream. I graduated with a diploma of interior design and a special certification in kitchens and bathrooms. I started working with residential clients after spending years building, designing and renovating spaces for my own friends and family.

  • Custom Kitchen and Bathroom Design

    I specialize in creating timeless kitchens and bathrooms that balance form and function. My design services focus on custom cabinetry solutions that are tailored to your space, lifestyle, and aesthetic vision. From space planning and material selection to detailed cabinetry design and finish coordination, every element is thoughtfully curated to bring beauty, practicality, and harmony into the heart of your home. Whether you’re starting fresh or remodeling an existing space, I’m here to guide you through a seamless, personalized design process.

    Kitchen and Bath designs start at 20 hours for your design plan, then additional hours are based on the scope of your project. Additional hours include meeting with contractors, travel time, sourcing and procuring of materials and installation.

  • Custom Decorating

    I am pleased to offer custom furniture design and full-service styling to thoughtfully complete your space. From one-of-a-kind furnishings and curated textiles to layered lighting and art placement, I bring together elements that reflect your story and elevate your everyday. Each piece and detail is selected with intention to create rooms that feel collected, personal, and effortlessly beautiful. Whether you’re furnishing a newly built home or refreshing a single room, I’ll help you design a space that feels just right—down to the finishing touches.

    Custom decorating services start at 10 hours for your design plan, then additional hours are based on the scope of your project.

  • New Construction Consultation & Concept Design

    If you have decided to build a house, you know all of the decisions can be overwhelming. Let me help you create the space you’re dreaming of from the first steps of conception to the final completion and relieve the headache and worry of whether or not it’s going to be what you want it to be!

    Concept-Only Design requires a minimum of 20 hours with the option of adding more services.

  • Virtual Design

    This option gives you the same great design with the flexibility of your own timeline and location. Virtual design deliverables include floor plans, color schemes, drawings and renderings, material sourcing and styling tips. All designs will be delivered through email and ready for you to give your contractor, or for the brave ones…DIY! This design process takes anywhere from 3-8 weeks, depending on the space. Give me a call or send an email so we can begin to personalize your design. I will send a form for you to fill out with measurements and everything I need to get started.

    Virtual Design requires a minimum of 10 hours.

About our Custom Cabinetry and Furniture…

In 2015 we were building a new home and I was in search of a company that could make a beautifully crafted, flush inset cabinet. I have always been inspired by bespoke British kitchen design and knew this was the look I wanted. A friend of mine introduced me to an Amish furniture maker in the area. The first kitchen he built for me was unbelievable. We have worked together since then and he continues to build the best cabinets available. The difference in craftsmanship is undeniable. With my custom design and his level of expertise, we can build cabinetry and furnishings specific to your space and unique design. You can be sure of the highest level of quality.

A guide to your design investment.

Design fees start at $75/hr. This does not include contractor fees or any other extra fees to complete the project. Please see the different services and minimum hours required above to choose the best fit for your needs. Your project budget can be determined by the level of service you want and the scope of the design.

Custom Design has many variables that affect the budget, such as personal needs, the size of the space, construction restraints, contractor fees, on-site visits, etc. I work alongside general contractors, but do not provide them. I am happy to work with you on creating a design within your budget for you to share with your contractor.
